All who come to me I keep. All who leave I set free.
But ever do I stand against those who carry not my key.

Ravenwood Church & Seminary or Wicca, Inc. was one of the first legally recognized public churches of Witchcraft in the United States. As a pioneer in establishing and defending religious freedoms for those following nature based religions, its accomplishments and contributions to our society can not be briefly summarized. In its early days, Ravenwood fought numerous legal battles winning acceptance for the Craft as a legitimate spiritual path by gaining recognition as a federally identified non-profit church entity and by gaining state property tax exemption. The precedents set in the Ravenwood vs. Roberts court case are still quoted today as references in defense of our Constitutionally protected religious freedoms.  Lady Sintana, Ravenwood’s founder, is widely known in Craft communities as a respected Elder and contributed to early pioneering works such as the Principles of Wiccan Belief as set forth by the American Council of Witches and the Wiccan section of the Army Chaplain’s handbook. As late as the 1990s, Lady Sintana and Ravenwood Church & Seminary of Wicca, Inc. continued to defend our right to practice the Old Religion in our own homes when they were attacked by a local state senator for meeting at a private residence. We encourage you to take time and peruse the vast volume of information contained in the Ravenwood library which documents the creation and evolution of this pioneering organization which has produced a vast and vibrant national tradition!
